"See, It's Not About Races..."

The latest headlines regarding (alleged) racial profiling really struck a cord with many people across the world -people are angry, confused, heartbroken at the state of human relations.

Trayvon Martin and Shaima Al – Awadhi aren't the first victims of alleged hate crimes; however, these two cases have reopened and expanded the conversation about race, gender, and cultural differences.
Since the height of the civil rights movement of the 1960's, we have seen many minorities make progress around the world. It is depressing, in the year 2012, we still ask the following question- "How could this happen?!"

I didn't plan on posting anything about these current events,
but I couldn't keep silent. Trayvon, Shaima, and so many others can't speak up for injustice...we must be the voice of unity and love.
With that being said, here is a something I put together: let's keep the conversation going and find ways to make the world a better place.

If you see me in a hoodie,
If you see me with tattoos,

If you see me in a store at midnight,
does this really give you a clue?

If you see my hair in locks,
do I seem unambitious?
If you see me in Timberland boots...
do I come off suspicious!?

If you see me, you should a reflection:
I'm a dreamer,
I'm a fighter,
I want love and affection.

Look at the reflection, the "Man in the Mirror"-
if you see me looking back at you, the message will get clearer.

So if you see me in a hoodie,
see yourself in a hoodie, too.
If you see me for who I am,
I will see you for you.

Michael Jackson - Planet Earth

Planet Earth, my home, my place
A capricious anomaly in the sea of space
Planet Earth are you just
Floating by, a cloud of dust
A minor globe, about to bust
A piece of metal bound to rust
A speck of matter in a mindless void
A lonely spaceship, a large asteroid

Cold as a rock without a hue
Held together with a bit of glue
Something tells me this isn't true
You are my sweetheart soft and blue
Do you care, have you a part
In the deepest emotions of my own heart
Tender with breezes caressing and whole
Alive with music, haunting my soul.

In my veins I've felt the mystery
Of corridors of time, books of history
Life songs of ages throbbing in my blood
Have danced the rhythm of the tide and flood
Your misty clouds, your electric storm
Were turbulent tempests in my own form
I've licked the salt, the bitter, the sweet
Of every encounter, of passion, of heat
Your riotous color, your fragrance, your taste
Have thrilled my senses beyond all haste
In your beauty, I've known the how
Of timeless bliss, this moment of now

Planet Earth are you just
Floating by, a cloud of dust
A minor globe, about to bust
A piece of metal bound to rust
A speck of matter in a mindless void
A lonely spaceship, a large asteroid
Cold as a rock without a hue
Held together with a bit of glue
Something tells me this isn't true
You are my sweetheart gentle and blue
Do you care, have you a part
In the deepest emotions of my own heart
Tender with breezes caressing and whole
Alive with music, haunting my soul.

Planet Earth, gentle and blue
With all my heart, I love you.

I stopped to talk, you had to listen.

I stopped to talk, you had to listen.

So who you're asking? Volume's increase.
All just a thriller - you want to be me?

A whisper of love. Blurring my mind.
The flower of laughter somewhere in sight.

Crucify. A lullaby. Shameful cry.
My head held high.

You call it justice. Is this the truth?
A soul of desire. Fading in doom.

Calling a number. Who's on the line?
9/11 - remember the time?

So who you're asking? When lips are sealed.
A man of wisdom, trying to heal.

If time's an illusion, so is the truth?
You're crying my tears. I'm bad. Who are you?

Am I gone? Where were you?

I am behind you, faithful and true.

June 13 - The truth runs marathons

Today marks the 5th anniversary of Michael Jackson's vindication from all charges...

We probably all remember that day more than vividly and thinking about it sends shivers down my spine. More than ever I was afraid of his life and the life of his family. The verdict made me cry of relief but all of this never stopped to crunch my stomach from pain.

When Jay-Z sang "Guilty Until Proven Innocent" it reminded me of the trial and I felt not even this applied for Michael.... WHY??!?

Now here we stand 5 years later still facing his legacy being smeared with lies and absurd accusations that those people don't even have to prove. They can just say it and make big money from it all around the world!

I'm really "tired of injustice, tired of these schemes" and I often feel hurt and helpless seeing it happen over and over again.

But then I remember what he tought me and the world and know that we cannot let this happen. We must raise our voice as one and bit by bit, piece by piece make that change.

I see so much love for Michael everywhere I go and I know millions around the world feel the same way. Let's bundle this energy and let the truth unfurl!!!

Michael deserves it.

His children deserve it.

His family deserves it.

We deserve it.

"The man's innocent. He always was."

South Africa's beloved  hero, who helped end apartheid and helped racial equality begin in South Africa,  first black president who  was and is respected all over the world has lost one of heis 9 gandchildren. N.Mandela stayed at home with his family Friday during the opening ceremony and game, mourning his 13-year-old great-granddaughter Zenani, who died in a car crash on the way home from a tournament-eve concert in Soweto.

We all are lost for words  for all the tragedy in the Mandela Family before:

1964 he was put in jail for making himself a representative of the millions of people who dared to rise up against a social system (polica of apartheid) whose very essence was war, violence, racism, oppression, repression and the impoverishment of an entire people. In 1990, Nelson Mandela was let out of prison after 27 years. In 1969 Mr. Mandela´s oldest son died. Prison authorities refused Mr. Mandela to attend the funeral and Nelson Mandela wrote in his autobiography. " I do not have words to express the sorrow or the loss I felt. It left a hole in my heart that can never be filled."
In 2005 the younger son died.

Nelson Mandela and Michael Jackson on a happy day in 1999.

We are sending our LOVE and prayers out for Zenani , to the entire Mandela´Family and  all her friends and to anyone who has lost a beloved person.
