Thank You Michael !

It's hard to accept it's been a year since we lost  Michael.
But what he gave us will never be lost.

This video is a compilation quotes chosen by us to represent Michael's vision and message.

We would like to thank you, our friends and readers,  for being close to us all this time and the coming week will bring your words and ours together in celebrating Michael's life and art.
We all have our own way to deal with loss and our suffering is individual but at least we can go through that together.

Michael Jackson In His Own Words

the last blog entry I did I wrote an excerpt from Michael's book Dancing the Dream. I feel that book is beautifully written and if you all don't mind I would like to put another part of Dancing the Dream in this blog too. :)

Heaven is Here by Michael Jackson

You and I were never separate
It's just an illusion
Wrought by the magical lens of Perception
There is only on Wholeness
Only one Mind
We are like ripples
In the vast Ocean of Consciousness
Come let us dance
The Dance of Creation
Let us celebrate
The Joy of Life
The birds, the bees
The infinite galaxies
Rivers, Mountains
Clouds & Valleys
Are all a pulsating pattern
Living, breathing
Alive with cosmic energy
Full of Life,of Joy
This Universe of Mine
Don't be afraid
To know who you are
You are much more
Than you ever imagined
You are the Sun
You are the moon
You are the wildflower in bloom
You are the Life-throb
That pulsates, dances
From a speck of dust
To the most distant star
And you and I
We're never separate
It's just an illusion
Wrought by the magical lens of Perception
Let us celebrate
The Joy of Life
Let us dance
The Dance of Creation

June, 25th: Keeping Michael´s L.O.V.E alive - Donate to Charity

The Sunday Project – Distribution of Meals to hungry Children in Haiti

„It´s unbelievable that it´s been a whole year. We still can´t believe it´s true. It´s like unreal, it´s a dream, but unfortunately it is reality,” Tito Jackson told  in an interview. The entrie´s headline is

“A Year Without Michael”

Bet, we are millions, who feel the way Tito feels, though our way of grief may be different. One year ... and doesnt´t it more feel like this tragedy happened yesterday?

For me this was no year without Michael – just the opposite! I think most of us will have spent much more time than before with talking and writing about Michael, re-reading his books and books written about him, interpretating the lyrics of his songs, listening to his music, watching videos with him on You Tube, reading tribute-sites on the internet, going into the theater to see “This is it”,  paying attention to audio files of his  speeches, researching the web for some wandwritten, lovely notes to his fans such as

and so much more....What it all comes down to is: he kept us pretty busy.:))

His loss made some of us even creating an own MJ-related website or blog, to keep his legacy of L.O.V.E alive...

So this year was both: A year without Michael – and on the other hand so fullfilled with thinking of him. We felt frustrated to the extreme because he has physically left us – and we were blessed enough to feel his spirit all around us, making us meeting wonderful friends on an international level and inspiring us for actions and activities of L.O.V.E.

The anniversary of Michael´s passing will be a hard and strange day. There will be people visiting Forest Lawn`s Holy Terrasse and various memorials all over the world; there will be prayers, candlelight and ...tears – though Michael would like us to smile. There will be events to celebrate Michael Jackson for what he was and will always be: The world´s greatest entertainer.

People will spend this day in many different ways – how about doing something this day to honor him and his humanitarian efforts for children?
He spend hundreds of million dollars for children who were in need.

Let´s follow him  on his  humanitarian path and donate some money for some of the poorest of the poor: The children of Cité Soleil in Port au Prince, Haiti.
After the devasting earthquake in January 2010  Carel Pedre, a born Haitian became THE VOICE of Haiti, keeping the world updated with what was going on in Port au Prince and coordinating via his account on Twitter (@carelpedre) aid supplies given  to charity to come to people who were in strong need for it over weeks. Left himself with bread and water and sleeping in his car with some friends he was still on air to send stories from people who survived to encouraged the  haitian people.

Carel Pedre (wearing the Sunday Project shirt)

This world could really need more people like this.

Carel did not leave Haiti - he remained staying there. He sent his wife with his little daughter to The States, where they are save.

On EasterSunday he started a project called "theSundayProject" intending to distribute food to the children in Soleil Cité,  one of the poorest departments in Port au Prince.

Cité Soleil, department of Port au Prince

It´s great work these guys are doing and the world needs more people who just look around and feel that they have to care and start acting having nothing left but their life, their love and their intent to care for others.

Dear #MJfam, let us support #TheSundayProject on Haiti and donate money  in Michael Jacksons´s name to honor him on his first anniversary of death.
Michael has taught us, that the children of the world are OUR children, especially when their parents not able to care about them.

 Children attending their Sunday Meal

Therefore WE have to care about them.
We can not relax and say “they´ll” help them.
Who - if not WE?
WE have to make that change and help.
Go for it, spread the word around and help Carel Pedre and his team be able to buy food for the hungry children of Cité Soleil -so that we can go on dreaming of a better tomorrow.

Every Dollar can help. Do not give up the idea of donating just because your are not able to spend much. Help spreading the word around to finally get many, many people of the MJfam helping #TheSundayProjet to go on with their great work.

Do it to honor Michael. Do it all for L.O.V.E.

Thank you. Love and peace to you.

God bless you.

Weep not for me

Isettaflower postet on flickr a group of pictures with Michael Jackson´s personal items up for sale to benefit a charity project that Michael and Isettaflower have helped together for the past 17 years, every year.

She also posted a very beautiful poem. Isettaflower said, Michael simply loved it.

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell
among the wonders of the earth; for my larger
self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other
side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine
that touches your skin, a tropical breeze
upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart
and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your
hour of need, I will be there to comfort you.
I will share your tears, your joys, your fears,
your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels,
and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;

I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses
the flowers. I am the calm that follows a
raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats
among the garden of God, and I am pure
white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die,
as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

As part of marking the commemoration of the one year past since Michael Jackson passed away,  CNN is presenting a documentary in which Newsroom's anchor Don Lemon tries to gather information about what happened in the last days of Michael's life from the people who were near him while rehearsing for This Is It tour.
You will find below a description of the show provided by the producer's of the program and a video teaser about hinting to what we can expect to see.
In considering Mr. Lemon's  past work and activity as a CNN anchor we expect this to be fair and balanced.

Children's Day - June 20th World Refugee Day 2010

Imagine you are thrown out of your home, cut of from your family, friends, community and forced to to leave your country, leave behind all that is familiar...
And that while bombs and guns might go off around you.
Knowing that your faith, your beliefs are considered unacceptable and you could be thrown in jail or killed for expressing them.
Knowing your race, nationality are reasons to be hated.
Being denied most basic rights, not existing as a citizen, not being allowed to be part of social or political group of your choice.
Not having access to education.
Living in fear.
And after much struggle if you are lucky enough to survive long enough to get to another country you will be at best tolerated.
Reality is that you will be discriminated against (for the color of your skin, for your religion), you will not be recognized as a citizen, not have easy access to education, you might have your basic needs taken care of but your needs for acceptance and connection will not.
Not knowing the language, the customs, the laws.
Not fitting in.
With little hope to return home.
Being denied the right to belong.
Living in fear and being looked at with fear and even anger.
Now imagine yourself going through all this at an age when main concern should be playing.

Article 1 of the 1951 Refugee Convention as amended by the 1967 Protocol provides the definition of a refugee:
A person who owing to a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion, is outside the country of his nationality and is unable or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail himself of the protection of that country; or who, not having a nationality and being outside the country of his former habitual residence as a result of such events, is unable or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to return to it.

10.5 million refugees at the end of 2009

34.4 million people of concern of UNHCR including (apart from the refugees) 14.4 million internally displaced people, 2 million returnees, 6.6 million stateless people and more than 800,000 asylum seekers

Photos are owned by UNHCR and can be found on the UN Refugees Agency's website

But beyond the facts and figures there are lives crushed by violence.
Behind numbers there are individuals.
The emotional and physical scars they bare are deep.

Photos are owned by UNHCR and can be found on the UN Refugees Agency's website
Children are at the heart of the issue.
They are the the most vulnerable.
Out of the total number of people of concern to the UNHCR half of them are children.
War is the main cause behind children becoming refugees, as well as the number one cause of death, injury and loosing parents for children.
Child soldiers is a growing practice according to international agencies.
Children are often subjected to abuse - rape, sexual slavery, child labor.
They arriving unaccompanied in different countries all over the world are not treated with necessary care. Many don't have access to legal advice - and a large number of them are at an age they do not understand their legal situation nor do they understand the legal procedures they are subject of.
The traumas they experience will be carried for life.
We should be more vocal in promoting and supporting The Convention on Children's Rights .

I stopped to talk, you had to listen.

I stopped to talk, you had to listen.

So who you're asking? Volume's increase.
All just a thriller - you want to be me?

A whisper of love. Blurring my mind.
The flower of laughter somewhere in sight.

Crucify. A lullaby. Shameful cry.
My head held high.

You call it justice. Is this the truth?
A soul of desire. Fading in doom.

Calling a number. Who's on the line?
9/11 - remember the time?

So who you're asking? When lips are sealed.
A man of wisdom, trying to heal.

If time's an illusion, so is the truth?
You're crying my tears. I'm bad. Who are you?

Am I gone? Where were you?

I am behind you, faithful and true.

45 years ago: Hector Peterson one of the first persons killed in South Africa's liberation struggle

"Thirty-four years ago Wednesday, on June 16, 1976, thousands of black school children in Soweto, South Africa, took to the streets to protest the apartheid education system.

It was supposed to be a peaceful protest, but the students were met with police gunfire and at least 23 of them were killed.

One of the first youths to be killed was 12-year-old Hector Pieterson.
His death was captured in a photograph that came to define South Africa's liberation struggle. [...] "    read more...

Better a knife than a word....

Joe Jackson accused Katherine Jackson of not doing enough to prevent  Michael´s death.

Though he actually backpedals, his words are still full of disrespect.
“Katherine did not kill my son,” he told PopEater on Monday. “She isn’t at fault.”

 HIS son?

Isn´t it THEIR son?

This poem came up into my mind:

Better a knife than a word.
A knife can be dull.
A knife often
misses the heart.

Not the word.
(H. Domin)

Let´s go on and send out our L.O.V.E and prayers for Mrs. Katherine Jackson.

June 13 - The truth runs marathons

Today marks the 5th anniversary of Michael Jackson's vindication from all charges...

We probably all remember that day more than vividly and thinking about it sends shivers down my spine. More than ever I was afraid of his life and the life of his family. The verdict made me cry of relief but all of this never stopped to crunch my stomach from pain.

When Jay-Z sang "Guilty Until Proven Innocent" it reminded me of the trial and I felt not even this applied for Michael.... WHY??!?

Now here we stand 5 years later still facing his legacy being smeared with lies and absurd accusations that those people don't even have to prove. They can just say it and make big money from it all around the world!

I'm really "tired of injustice, tired of these schemes" and I often feel hurt and helpless seeing it happen over and over again.

But then I remember what he tought me and the world and know that we cannot let this happen. We must raise our voice as one and bit by bit, piece by piece make that change.

I see so much love for Michael everywhere I go and I know millions around the world feel the same way. Let's bundle this energy and let the truth unfurl!!!

Michael deserves it.

His children deserve it.

His family deserves it.

We deserve it.

"The man's innocent. He always was."

Prison authorities refused Mr. Mandela to attend the funeral and Nelson Mandela wrote in his autobiography. " I do not have words to express the sorrow or the loss I felt. It left a hole in my heart that can never be filled."
In 2005 the younger son died.

Michael Jackson In His Own Words

for this blog post I thought I'd do something a little bit different then I normally do. Instead of the 10 or more quotes I usually put I thought this time I would like to put one of my favorite parts of Michael's book Dancing the Dream on here. This is an amazing book as I know many of you already know so here it is .... :)

Trust By Michael Jackson

As I was feeding squirrels in the park, I noticed a small one that didn't seem to trust me. While the others came close enough to eat out of my hand, he kept his distance. I threw a peanut his way. He edged up, grabbed it nervously, and ran off. Next time he must have felt less afraid, because he came a little closer. The safer he felt, the more he trusted me. Finally he sat right at my feet, as bold as any squirrel clamoring for the next peanut.

Trust is like that-it always seems to come down to trusting in yourself. Others can't overcome fear for you; you have to do it on your own. It's hard, because fear and doubt hold on tight. We are afraid of being rejected,of being hurt once more. So we keep a safe distance. We think separating ourselves from others will protect us, but that doesn't work either. It leaves us feeling alone and unloved.

Trusting yourself begins by recognizing that it's okay to be afraid. Having fear is not the problem, because everyone feels anxious and insecure sometimes. The problem is not being honest enough to admit your fear. Whenever I accept my own doubt and insecurity, I'm more open to other people. The deeper I go into myself, the stronger I become, because I realize that my real self is much bigger than any fear.
In accepting yourself completely, trust becomes complete. There is no longer any separation between people, because there is no longer any separation inside. In the space where fear used to live, love is allowed to grow.

Pacaya and Agatha: The Rain that Didn't Stop

On Thursday, May 27, Volcano Payca erupted, raining ash on Guatemala City, Antigua and Escuintla. The main international airport of the country, Guatemala City, was closed.

On Saturday, Tropical Storm Agatha rained down on Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, killing hundreds (death toll still rising as remote villages are accessed) leaving hundreds unaccounted for, and dislocating hundreds of thousands.

Not too surprisingly, an international disaster of this magnitude has received minimal international coverage. The countries of the third world, and its struggles, and those of its people - women, children, are often ignored.

Please take a moment to reflect and find some small way to help. More information on how you can help will be forthcoming, as soon as its located. This has been a struggle too.

Women, children, and families, "the least of us" who struggle for survival have probably lost what they have, BUT..they are surely a great reminder of the divinity within the "least of us" and another supernatural attack on the war on materialism, and the call for all of us to L.O.V.E.

A summary of the events are included in this article.

Henrietta Lacks: A Legacy of Love

This is Mrs. Henrietta Lacks. To some, this name means nothing; to millions around the world, this woman's is the reason they're alive today.
Loretta Pleasant was born and raised in Southside Virginia in 1920.
Ms. Pleasant married and moved to Baltimore and became Mrs. Henrietta Lacks (no one knows why her name was changed from Loretta.)
Early in 1951, Mrs. Lacks discovered she had an aggressive form of cervical cancer; as she
was being treated, her cells were removed without her consent for research. Her cells were referred to as HeLa (hee-lua) cells so doctors wouldn't have to disclose the name of the donor.
Mrs. Lacks passed in October of 1951;buried in an unmarked grave, she passed unaware of the extraction of her cells and the impact she would have in the world of medical science.
I strongly encourage each of you to research the history of Mrs. Lacks life and the "HeLa cells", there are many articles relating to her life as well as a book entitled "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" (Skloot.)
Over the past thirty years, the Lacks family has been making strides to have their beloved mother, sister, grandmother's name honored, on Saturday, May 29, 2010 the healing began.
A doctor with Morehouse College in Georgia provided funds to give Mrs. Lacks a proper headstone so people from all walks of life can identify the final resting place of this phenomenal woman.
I had the pleasure to attend the memorial service for Mrs. Lacks in my hometown. I was glad to see so many people in attendance on a Memorial Day weekend. I later began to see that the base if attendees were the extend family of Mrs. Lacks. This was the first encounter for many of the family members, and you could feel the love for one another.
Doctors, family members, public officials gave remarks on the life and legacy of Mrs. Lacks and the way the HeLa cells are still saving lives to this very day.
The highlight of the ceremony for me was the remarks of a pastor in our area. To paraphrase his remarks, he gave what some would call a prophetic vision of the day doctors/scientist discover the cure for cancer thanks impart to the HeLa cells.
I found myself very moved, to the point of tears about this woman and her story. She was my age when she passed away and almost sixty years later, I had the opportunity to be in the midst of her family and friends.
As I heard how the HeLa cells are used, I felt a since of gratitude to Mrs. Lacks as she could be the reason my grandfather lived an easier life as he battled cancer. I thought about the couples that now have families of their own, those who don't have to endure endless sickness because of one woman's unique genetic code.
The service ended with a sense of closure with optimism for the future of science and of course, love.
There is more to come from this story, so much more. I hope this has given you as much interest as it has given me. I also hope to follow up on Mrs. Lacks in future entries.
Thank you, Mrs. Lacks.

Memorial Day

On this day lets remember those children forced to fight in wars and let's put a stop to this.

Where there is love, I'll be there....

Walking to Emmaus by Fritz von Uhde

On the Road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35)

Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him.

He asked them, "What are you discussing together as you walk along?"

They stood still, their faces downcast. One of them, named Cleopas, asked him, "Are you only a visitor to Jerusalem and do not know the things that have happened there in these days?"

"What things?" he asked.

"About Jesus of Nazareth," they replied. "He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place. In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning but didn't find his body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive. Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but him they did not see."

He said to them, "How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?" And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus acted as if he were going farther. But they urged him strongly, "Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over." So he went in to stay with them.

When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"

They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together and saying, "It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon." Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.

May 25th, International Missing Children's Day

The disappearance of 6 year old Etan Patz, on his way to school in New York, 1979 was the event that led to this day of raising awareness for missing children around the world - the ones who have found their way home, the ones who have been victims of a crime and the ones who are still missing.

Nine countries around the world (Australia, Brazil, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Nederlands, Romania, South Africa and United Kingdom - member countries in  the Global Missing Children’s Network) have joined in to pledge support and strengthen the efforts to bring missing children home to their loved ones and actions are supported by the European Union.

Whether the children are running away and end up loosing their way and are not able to get back home, whether they are victims of a crime, including parental/family abduction, action must be taken by all of us to ensure they are returned to safety. All of us - authorities, NGO's and us as individuals.

Please join us in prayer for all the missing children
- may they find their way home -
and their loved ones.
