"Joy"

To our sons an daughters, nieces and nephews.
And the expecting parents R and F, and their beautiful daughter.

'Joy' is a song that appears on Teddy Riley's group, Blackstreet, first album and was released as a single in March 1995. It peaked at 12 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and Tracks but chart position is not what matters about this song.
The melody is written by Michael Jackson, lyrics by Tammy Lucas , and was considered for a while to be included on Michael's "Dangerous" album. It was It was released together with 5 other versions - Uptown Joy that samples Michael's song "I Can't Help It", Cool Joy and Quiet Storm that feature saxophonist Mike Phillips, New Carnegie Mix which was arranged for strings and conducted by Jeremy Lubbock , with  Mark Portmann on keyboards and  Bruce Dukov on violin. All wrapped up by the amazing producing and mixing of  Teddy Riley.
The vocals that made people to think of Michael are a masterpiece of then Black street member, Levi Little.

The end result is powerful and gentle at the same time. And though it came together with the borrowed talent from so many artists it shows no signs of being blend. On the contrary - there are no stitches, no patches.

For few years now this song changed meaning for me and it become more than just a beautiful piece of music. Every time I listen to it reminds me to say thank you to the beautiful souls that make my life be filled with joy, either they are close or far. Your love and wisdom are an inspiration.

Can't forget the day
That you walked into my life
It was just the kind of thing
That was so right on time
After all the love changes
My heart had locked the door
Then that girl released her magic
And made me love once more, ooh

Like the warm rays of the sun
Her sweet love came shining down on me, oh
All at once turned my life around
And with one kiss, she set me free

[1] She's given me joy, joy, joy
That girl, she brings me joy
She's given me joy, joy, joy
That girl, she brings me joy

Goodbye lonliness
And so long to my heartache
Now that joy has taken over
And decided to stay

Her love lifts me up
Like no other love before
With every beat of my heart
I'm hold, holding on, hey

Just look what she's done for me
She's erased all the sadness away, oh
I can never repay the deed
Cuz she keeps loving me more and more

[1] She's given me joy, joy, joy
That girl, she brings me joy
She's given me joy, joy, joy
She brings me joy

She's given me

Check one, check two
Can't hold back, I'm in love with you
Check one, check two
There's nothing in the world that I won't do for you

Check one check two
Can't hold back, I'm in love with you
Check one check two
There's nothing in the world that I won't do for you

That girl
She's given me joy, joy, joy
I love the way she loves me
She brings me joy
She's given me joy joy joy
A little bit of lovin' darlin'

Said I love it baby (Joy joy joy)
Oh girl, I love the joy she brings me (Joy joy joy)
She brings me joy, she brings me joy
Said I love it when you're loving me baby (Joy joy joy)
Oh girl, ya get me where you want me, baby (Joy joy joy)
Yeah, girl you're my joy (Joy)

Check one check two
Can't hold back, I'm in love with you
(Girl you're my joy)
Check one check two
There's nothing in the world that I won't do for you
(All my kissin')
Check one check two
Can't hold back, I'm in love with you
(All my lovin')
Check one check two
There's nothing in the world that I won't do for you

Girl you're my joy
